AWM Memorial Boxes

 

Broome Historical Society are agents for the Australian War Memorial Boxes.

Memorial Boxes are engaging learning resources, filled with real and replica uniforms, equipment, artefacts, and more. They are supported by a range of case studies and activities which are available online. Memorial Boxes can be used to invigorate classroom lessons, inspire historical investigation, and add meaning to commemorative activities.

Memorial Box 3 -Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wartime service

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people please be aware that this resource contains images and names of deceased persons.

Filled with real and replica uniforms, equipment and artefacts, this Memorial Box explores the unique wartime experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and their significant contribution to Australia’s defence over time.

Memorial Box 4 – Australia in the Second World War

This Memorial Box explores the Australian experience of the Second World War – a war that seemed to affect every aspect of life, with Australia itself coming under attack. Almost a million Australians served, at home and abroad, on land, at sea, or in the air. Their stories come to life as you unpack the real and replica Second World War items in this Box.
