Marty the Mallard is not just any aeroplane, he is a flying boat! Marty searches for a lost fishing tinny in the Kimberley of Western Australia. Will he find Terry?
The relationship between the aircraft and author is real. Daniel Bolton has flown seaplanes for over 13 years and currently flies three Mallards as his day job. The Mallard was built back in 1947 by Grumman and although only 59 aircraft were ever built, these 75 year old flying boats are still operating out of Darwin today, in support of the pearling operations in the Top End of Australia.
