Volunteer with the Broome Historical Society

Volunteers are at the heart of the Broome Historical Society & Museum. From greeting visitors to helping with archives, collections, research, and events, our team of volunteers keep the museum running and Broome’s history alive.

We welcome people who want to share their interest in Broome’s history, learn new skills, or simply be part of a friendly, community-minded team.

Why volunteer?

  • Be part of a friendly, community-focused team
  • Learn more about Broome’s history and heritage
  • Share your skills and knowledge
  • Help preserve and promote the stories of our town
  • Enjoy flexible hours – weekly, fortnightly or monthly

What volunteers do

Most volunteers help at the museum front desk, greeting visitors, processing admissions, handling sales and sharing local history. Other opportunities, such as working with archives or collections, may open up from time to time.

All volunteers receive an induction and are covered by volunteer insurance. Membership of the Broome Historical Society ($5 per year) is required.
